So I went for my introductory Pilates lesson this morning. And I’m impressed. Very impressed. And completely amazed that you can exercise so many muscles by actually doing very little movement. I can feel my muscles, but I’m not in pain. As my friend Sue said at the end: “I feel thinner already”
I am taking the plunge and doing an entire lesson in the morning, so tomorrow night might be a different story. And it is Daniel’s campout tomorrow night ( we are only staying for the braai, I’m not a brave as Luddite Lass!), so getting up from the ground might be no fun. I might have to slither crawl roll on the grass.
In a nutshell, Pilates is all about exercising the core pelvic muscles, something my darling husband was very happy to hear about. I’m not going to share all his lovely suggestive comments except for: “hulle noem dit nie Piel-a-tus vir niks nie”. Funny guy. He won’t be laughing when I can’t open or close my legs tomorrow night, silly bugger š
Our His son was a nightmare tonight. Didn’t want to eat supper, didn’t listen when we tried to talk to him, ended up having 2 time outs in a very short space of time. And he preferred playing silly buggers with the girls when it was supper time, so we decided enough is enough, and stuck to our guns and gave them no “cookies” until they ate supper. Daniel and Mignon fell for it, Isabel pretty much gave us the middle finger. Well, she’ll learn. Hopefully. But it’s not looking good.
He is becoming quite the little wise-ass. He was sitting in front with me today (after the girls fought about the front seat and he quietly slipped in, but that’s another story) when I asked Mignon to sit nicely and don’t hang over her seat, he turned around and IN EXACTLY MY TONE OF VOICE repeated what I had just said. My jaw dropped.
Anyhoo, I have to be at my Pilates class at 06h00 in the morning, so I’ll toodle off to bed now…
Yayyyy!! Thanks!!
Well done š should I say that? But I’m so proud of you. Unlike me who is just talking about Nia and not got much further…..
Sounds like something my Hubby would say š
Enjoy the Pilates and have a great weekend.
LOL at hubby! Very funny guy!
Had to laugh out loud at your Hubby’s Piel-a-tus, men, you really wonder about their train of thoughts sometime’s.
Hope you (and Hubby) will benefit from the classes, actually sounds like a bit of fun – and as I don’t really like exercising, it sounds like something worth looking in to.
3 Headstrong children you have there!
funny hubby! good luck with the Pilates! … and your 3 little ones š
LOL at your friend “I feel thinner already”! Maybe if I think about Pilatus twice a day I will also feel thinner.
Your hubby is funny.
Do men have core pelvic muscles?
I luv Pilates & can’t wait 2 get bsck 2 it after my baby’s born
A Pilates class at 6 am – that’s true bravery. A school campout is sissy stuff compared to that! š
I am impressed!!!! xxxx
I love Pilates, must actually start going again. My core pelvic muscles are not as super as they used to be sadly, thanks to the babes.
I’m hooked!
Hahahaha good question, I’ll ask!
If it weren’t for Daniel’s teacher gently nudging (read: bullying) me I also still would have been thinking about it. Would you like me to nudge you until you go? š
I hate sweating, but think I could get used to this!
Thanks Cams, I’m hooked!
Now I just need to stick to it!
š cool! and were you very sore the next day or two?
