Some Danielisms:
In the bathroom the other morning: “Mamma, sit die lig aan” and pointing at the blinds for me to open.
He has learnt now that I can be wrapped around his little finger if he asks nicely enough and produces enough pearly white, wide, fake smiles. Works like a charm, every time.
We played him one of “The Killers” albums yesterday and he was happily bopping away in the car. Every time a new track started we asked him who it was and he would say “Killers!!” Such a boy..
We had my In-laws and BIL, SIL and their 2 kids over for supper last night. It was a very busy night, but we all thoroughly enjoyed it and I could pack everything in the dishwasher and leave the rest there was help this morning. Bliss. I have asked SIL if we could maybe park all our issues for the sake of our In-laws and try to get a family pic of everyone. I don’t want to be morbid, but the up-country BIL only comes down every 2 yrs and my In-Laws are in their late 70’s. My FIL is almost 80 and amazing for his age. I’m worried about my MIL, she is deteriorating a lot lately, and is rapidly losing her hearing (they are both in denial about this, but she is battling to follow a conversation)
For the first time in my life I feel terribly, terribly guilty for going on holiday. I feel like I haven’t worked hard enough this year and there is SO much going on at work at the moment that this holiday could not have come at a worse time. I guess it comes with the territory though of working for yourself I think. And I have to take off, the schools are closed and the nanny is on holiday and hubby cannot do it by himself.
Check out this article about Santa. The Auzzies really need to get a grip.
Hubby’s Christmas gift story continued:
Not only was Kalahari out of stock of the (unbeknownst to him) duplicate gift, he was mighty miffed when he went down to the shops yesterday to buy it there and they were ALSO out of stock. I nearly fell over laughing (on the inside of course). Can’t wait to see his face.
We were furiously wrapping Christmas gifts tonight as we have to drop off the gifts for the family that we are not seeing for Christmas before tomorrow evening. The rest we have decided can go with on holiday in black bags, we wrap it there…
I am off now to read 2 pages of Twilight. I decided to give myself an early Christmas gift đ
Love the Danielism đ And you so deserve a break – with NO GUILT – Okay?!
What’s with the Santa story – those thoughts have never crossed my mind and I’m no obese drunk driver from my childhood love of the jolly ol’ man.
yay for Twilight – such escapism – enjoy
Enjoy your holiday and ten stars for being so organised with your Christmas gifts. I have managed only to buy for the kiddies and hubby(who’s gift I might likely donate to a charity) how is Twilight, my daughter recently discovered the Movie and might just get into the book. Enjoy your well deserved HOLIDAY!!
You certainly have worked hard enough this year, just take a look at those beautiful children and their progress in the last year….who do you think did that???!!
I’m buying myself the Twilight set for my Christmas prezzie too! Can’t wait. xx
Good luck with reading only 2 pages of twilight. It’s a hard book to put down… đ
Enjoy your well deserved HOLIDAY.
Can’t stop giggling about your hubby and the present thing…LOL.xx
