Voting day

I also sport a black thumb, much to Daniel’s dismay, as he keeps on kissing it better 🙂

We took a walk with our neighbours to go and vote late this avie at the local school and we walked straight through.  We then took all the kids to the park and ran around like border collies trying to herd them.  Great fun, had an easter egg tonight (ok, 2) to make up for all the calories I burnt.

We are taking Daniel to an Orthopedic Pediatrician tomorrow as he keeps on falling over his feet and the school asked us to have it looked at.  (they are turned in a little and very flat) Let’s see how that goes.  I also noticed today that Isabel’s left foot is a bit wonky when she wears shoes, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for that too.

Hope everyone has a great short week!

  1. sounds a little like pigeon toes….Frog’s orthopaed mentioned a while ago that sometimes for mild pigeon toes the best thing is to let the kids grow up. I suppose it depends on the severity and the type, but you probably might not have to do more than a few excercises. let us know?

  2. Please give us an update on Daniel’s visit to the Orthopedic Pediatrician and give us the name of this doctor. My little D has a similar issue with his feet and it sounds like this is the kind of doc he needs to see.

  3. Good luck with Ortopod,we also did the dash around the park, there was another kid there with her Mom and she stood in some dog poop so ‘Little one’ loudly announced “That girl stinks Mom”great let me curl up and die!!!!

  4. My son wore insoles in his shoes for a while, his feet rolled in, and the fact that they grew so quickly didnt really help. He went from a size 7 to a 12 in about 6 months. But has now been a 12 for a year. His unstable feet ended up giving him leg cramps at night, because it was overstretching his calf muscles. He has been fine for ages now. He was a similar age though 3 -4, now he is 5 the problems seem to be a lot better.

  5. DH also has th flat feet and we have always had D in proper shoes or no shoes. We decided to give him the summer and see if it corrects itself, alas, it hasn’t. Thanks for the feedback.
