Hospital update and Danielisms

I started typing a post about how we juggled the day so someone would be with Isabel the whole time and deleted it.  Just too boring.

Bottom line: I survived the night, someone was with her the whole day between my mom, hubby and myself and it looks like she’ll go home tomorrow.  Hold thumbs!

I brought her some homemade Spaghetti Bolognaise earlier and she gobbled it all up, so she’s on the mend, YAY!

Daniel was carted off to holiday camp on Gan Eden farm with a friend this past week and he had a great time.

This past Saturday hubby took him to the shops to buy him a DVD and he ended up choosing Snow White.  (hey, who am I to gender program my child, he has his whole life to “be a man”).  He watches it 24/7 and has several copies of the book.

The funniest thing about this is that every time the movie starts he runs into the kitchen and demands an apple.  And then a minute later Mignon is is also there, demanding an apple.  At least they are upping their fruit intake πŸ™‚

Danielism: whenever he gets angry or is scolded lately he will look at us with tears in his eyes and say: ‘Jy maak my kwaad!’  We have had to hide many smiles, sweet little man.

I’m going to try and get madam settled, clearly no Housewives or Fringe for me tonight..  And remind me not to operate any heavy machinery, I even managed to feck up microwave popcorn earlier..

  1. Yup, if their appetite’s back, they’re def on the mend! Hope you have a good break this weekend.

  2. Whoa – sounds like you’re having a rough time, sorry about that πŸ™ I’m very anti establishment and can assure you that my little girl has many “boy” things (including asking for a remote control car for her 7th birthday a month ago) and it hasn’t made her any less of a girl. She’s a remarkable ballerina and plays pink and dolls as hard as she skateboards and watches Ben Ten. Don’t stress – they sort themselves out.

  3. Great way to get them to eat apples. Tash started eating carrots after watching bugs bunny.

    Glad Isabel is feeling better

  4. Oh dear… just can’t stop putting my foot in it, hey?! Saw your TGEasterISOver post!
