Party time

Yep.  That time again.  The brainwashing started months ago already.  I refuse to have a Ben 10 party (or 10Ben as my FIL says) or a Snow White party.  Yes, he asked for a Snow White party.  That’s where we started.  We ended up with a ‘Mowgli’ party after much uhmming and ahing.

If you don’t know who Mowgli is you probably shouldn’t be reading this post. (Psst, the background should be a giveaway)

So, ideas welcome!  I am going to be running between jobs until at the least the end of May so I don’t know how I’m going to pull this off.  At least there will be less time to angst.  Have I mentioned ideas are welcome?

Tomorrow Daniel is going on his first school outing EVER without me.  I am feeling incredibly guilty about it, but I just can’t afford the time out at the moment.  Sorry my boy, Mommy will make it up to you!

His favourite books at the moment are: Snow White (no shit), Beauty and the Beast and Bambi.  Only thing is, we buy the Afrikaans versions, but have to remember to use the English name at all times.  Have you ever tried reading a story in one language, but the names in a different language.  When you’re half asleep?

If I miss something important in the next few weeks, I’m apologising now already:  Sorry!

  1. Ahh the jungle book is one of my fav Disney movies.

    Jelly snakes for Kaa
    Baloo fruit skewers
    Chocolate banana’s for the monkey’s
(You can put the skewers in a half melon)
    Tiger masks or face painting

  2. Look how clever Cams is! Lol Adele. I also have to translate some books as I bought some Afrikaans books but he only enjoys the Afrikaans first time around, then he loses interest and since I have to read a book at least 5 times a nihgt… 3 out of 5 times I have to translate it.

  3. Lovely party theme, will think of some ideas I am sure. You could do a watermelon pinata. That is a pinata made to look like a watermelon of course not an actual watermelon. 😀
Hope you get through the next month with out losing too much hair!!! xxxx

  4. Hey, sounds like a good crazy time for you. nothing like getting serious about business when you know the kids have had their fill of mommy for a while.

Enjoy and I think you should hire Cams as your party planner..

    xx

  5. LOVE the background!!
Yip – get Cams the party planner 🙂
I’ll think of something – just give me time (yes, I know you don’t have time – neither do I, but it sounded good). LOL 😀

  6. Cool theme. Serve Jungle Juice with animal biscuits. For the activities you can print out some Jungle Book colouring-in pages for the children Try: http://www.kids-n-fun.com/coloringpages/kleurplaat_Jungle-Book_66.aspx and you can make plain banana-shaped biscuits and give the children icing and sprinkles and small sweets to decorate them with. Pass the parcel with small plastic animal prizes in each layer. You’re going to have so much fun!
