What a weekend! (I know it’s almost Tuesday, but WTH)
I think Saturday night went extremely well. Some of the people probably laughed their heads off at the level of chaos at our house when they left, but hey. Turns out, the Jewish friends separate Milk and Meat after all, but it worked out very well. It’s nice to be forced out of your little comfort zone every now and again.
So, we had Kosher boerewors, a quinoa salad (almost like couscous), a green salad without feta and I made a cashew and polenta bread with rice milk (didn’t come out too well though). I completely forgot to boil potatoes, but there was enough food after all! For dessert my vegan friend brought chocolate tofu ice cream and another friend brought strawberries and it was divine!!
Yesterday morning we had coffee at the in-laws, lunch at Slattery’s in Oude Westhof and a soon-to-be-twin-parents couple over for late afternoon tea. I suspect they were also shell shocked when they left. So glad it’s not me! Shame, I really feel sorry for people who have twins before experiencing a singleton first, it must be rough. BUT, we all survive in the end and mostly come away with a sense of humor!
Busy week ahead, am off to catch up on everyone’s blogs now. Have a good one!
Busy weekend and busy week ahead – phew indeed! Hope you find some time to catch your breath.
Saturday sounds like it was a huge success – well done on keeping everyone happy 🙂
Good luck for the busy week ahead!
I’m glad it was a success. Sounds like there was some interesting food there. It is nice to taste some different things, sometimes we don’t know what we’re missing!
