Oi. The fun never ends in this house.
Daniel woke up this morning covered in spots. No blisters, no fever, so I took him off to school where they pronounced him healthy to stay. There has recently been an outbreak of chicken pox at the school and I, to be honest, was a little smug that Daniel didn’t get it as we were sure he had it 2 years ago, very mildly. Maybe not, as it turns out.
His teacher called this avie to say that there are now many more spots, but still no blisters. One of the other Moms (a Homeopath) looked and couldn’t say for sure. Took him off to the chemist, they couldn’t say for sure either.
So now we’ll see how the night goes, but I did buy some Calamine for in case. And we gave him some Allergy medication to see if it isn’t maybe an allergy.
I don’t mind Daniel getting the Chicken pox, I very much mind the girls getting it now as the incubation period is about 10 – 14 days, which means that they might be sick over Christmas. Crap.
And we have a kids party on Saturday he is SO looking forward to and friends coming over for supper on Saturday night we haven’t seen in absolute ages, but they have small children, so we’ll have to cancel.
Anyway, as usual I’ll build a little bridge and get over it and we’ll just deal with whatever is flung our way with a smile and a giggle.
Any suggestions/thoughts/advice??
If I had to do it over it would be with a bottle of red and some valium.
Oh krap, sorry man having 3 kids sucks they usually get as the previous one recovers.
I hear you sister, loud and clear. Wanna come over and join me 🙂
Jip, I actually prefer that they are all sick at the same time, let’s just get it over and done with lol
I once had mumps during a caravanning holiday and I can remember lying on my bunk listening to all the other children playing outside. These childhood illnesses just don’t care!
I remember when we had pox as children – I started then followed my two sisters and then my brother! Don’t know how my mom survived!
But I do have fond memories of having the pox – as witht his illness we all received a special gift – me two puzzles (to keep me busy) and sister some “pick up sticks” Can’t remember what the other two got. But I felt very chuffed getting a present just for being sick!
Anyways, good luck. Really hope it’s just allergies!
Son2 had german measles this year – was just spots not blisters, but he did have a fever and was extremely lethargic. Hope it just an allergy.
When my son had the pox the blisters came out quite quickly. There is German measles in the area as well, so it might be that as well….
Oh boy, it never rains but it pours! So strange that these horrible bugs come along in cycles, I wonder who the bugger was that started this one.
I’m with Cams red wine and valium great choice. xx
Hoo boy – hope it’s not pox – would be very crappy. If it is… I hope you’ll listen to Dr Cams.
