The Killers

We went to see The Killers last night.  Yes, it took us 3 hrs to get there from Durbanville and YES it took us 5 hours to get home.  Hubby got a whiff of what its like to sit in traffic every day.  It sucked and a big thumbs down to Big Concerts.  We had to get 2 shifts of people to take care of our kids and my poor in-laws, who had the second shift, ended up waiting until 03h00 for us to come home.  We felt really, really bad.  Go and have a look at what people had to say about this today.

The Killers were absolutely awesome though!

I love going to concerts, it takes me back to being 21 and living in London.  I love buying t-shirts at concerts and putting them on right there and then.  We don’t enjoy the shoving a pushing, so we normally stand towards the back where you can breathe.

A music concert is the only place someone of my age (and size) can dance barefoot on the grass in public and make a complete arse of myself and very few people actually care.  (I hear this is what Vortex is like, but prefer to give it a miss)  It was great fun, we danced like lunatics, but I had to stop hopping after a while as the gammy ankle started giving in and I knew it was a long walk to the car.  Aaahh, old age.

I saw Josie Borain (isn’t she gorgeous?) and some really tall guy walked by and apparently it was Andries Bekker (think rugby).  To me he just looked like a really tall guy.

Concerts are probably some of the few places people from all walks of life get together for a single, happy purpose and they always give me hope.  And hubby and I got to spend some uninterrupted quality time together, sitting in a field, waiting to go home.  Just a pity there was no 3G access, otherwise this blog post would have been done last night already šŸ™‚

  1. I would’ve been in Groen Dakkies if I had to endure that – Would def have had a meltdown. Well done to all who survived it.

  2. Wow, what more can I say, I bow to your spirit!!!!
I don’t know if I could do this anymore.
So glad that you enjoyed the concert, and yes Josie Boran is gorgeous. xx

  3. Hey! Glad you enjoyed too! We were squashed like sardines in Golden Circle – and with all the roadworks on the Joburg highways, we also took 5 and a half hours travelling there & back!

Also have serious toes pain after hubby jumped on my toes 100 times! Note to self: Next concert, wear closed shoes (preferable steel toe boots)!
