The plot thickens

So, R1 300 later we got the Renault back this avie.  They couldn’t find the fault, but they did a LOT of looking judging by the bill.

I had to dash Mignon off to the doctor as she didn’t keep any food down the whole day and I’m just not taking any chances.  We left with a script for Tamiflu for her and Isabel and off to the Physio for a sample and to loosen her chest.  I also left feeling like a very bad mother as the pead instructed me to stay home tomorrow and make sure that she gets lots of fluid during the day.  Clearly he has not met our nanny, but I still felt bad and told him so.

Hubby was faaaar too busy to be able to help at all today, which totally does my head in as I am so far behind with work at the moment I don’t know if I’ll ever catch up.  I decided to not pick a fight in the middle of the day though.  He doesn’t seem to GET that if I don’t work I don’t generate money.

He did however graciously offer to drop the nanny off and go and get the script.  And then couldn’t get home as the farking car wouldn’t start again.  So, I called the mechanic who went to tow the damn thing and luckily our neighbours across the road went to collect Daniel from Dad.  And then went to collect hubby.

I think I cracked just a little today.  There is so much going on and I just don’t feel that I’m getting much support from hubby.  And I also know that most of it is my own doing starting so many projects at the same time and juggling work and home.

But, tomorrow will be better and luckily my in-laws are away, so I can use their car.

  1. Sounds soooo familiar. What type of Renault do you drive? We very recently had the same problem with our Scenic. If its the battery that’s dead constantly – so dead you cant even get into the car with the remote key – then its a common problem with Renaults. Pretty soon the workshop is going to tell you that its the computer and they have to replace it which costs R23 000! After much frustration, and various other people looking at the car as we dont have R23 000 to replace a computer in the car, my husband had a look himself and found that one of the connectors was covered with junk and half the fuses were not in properly. He cleaned all the connectors he could find / see and ensured all the fuses were in properly. Car has been running fine for the past two weeks now. Good luck!!

  2. Hey Tania, so sorry to hear of your little one being so sick. You are allowed to have a little “crack up” every now and then you know, we are not superwomen, despite that fact that we would love to be. (hugs) Hope things get a little easier soon. xx

  3. One of ‘those’ days! Hopefully today will look a bit better for you 🙂 I also feel overwhelmed some days, and wish I could run away! Hope you manage to sort out the car, and that the girls are feeling better soon. *hugs*

  4. Ai jai jai! Sounds like a tough time! And I think one feels even more helpless when your child is sick! I am hoping she is all settled and better today.
I will forever be a Volkswagen fan, but good luck with your Renault!

  5. ARgh, you poor thing. I would have freaked out having paid R1300 and then the car STILL dies!!! I hope Mignon is OK, does he think it is Swineflu?

  6. Ag,when the sh*t hits the fan hey?
Hope the girls are better soon, summer can really come now, tired of sick kids with snotty noses and irritating little coughs. In Summer all seems to be much better.
Have a good last bit of the week.

  7. Mixed feelings on the car. If they couldn’t find the fault, they shouldn’t have been able to charge. On the other hand, at least they didn’t put something like, ‘The gerdoofle thingmebob was jammed’ which most people would simply accept…

  8. LOL, thanks for popping in. They apparently now also have to replace the cam belt and I keep on saying cv joint. !!
