Today

I think we had a case of the post-party-blues today.  I was very emotional and teary the entire day and when I finally got home with the kids I complained to hubby and he also said he was feeling blue.  The man doesn’t normally understand the meaning of the word!

I was ready to dig out the number of my shrink I haven’t seen in many years and go and beg for happy drugs.

So, I was going to do a long and whiney post about how sad I am and how horrible my life is.  How I’m so fat and I’m such a bad Mom for working and how I would love to take a 6 month sabbatical from work and just do NOTHING but drive around after my kids.

BUT, when we got home I realised that there is still a jumping castle left from the weekend (belongs to a friend).  So we plugged it in and the kids went nuts and we took turns to jump and roll and laugh and play with them.  And then we had illegal butter chicken and roti’s (my favourite!).  And a glass of red.

Suddenly I didn’t feel blue anymore, but very lucky and loved.  Nothing like a good laugh!

Now I just need to figure out a way to pay the bills…

  1. So glad you found a fabulous family way to beat the blues. Oh those pesky bills! Whenever will they learn to pay themselves?! PS Why is butter chicken and roti illegal? Aren’t you allowed it in jail?

  2. Very cool. Nothing like playing with the kids and eating food that you actually love and having a glass of vino to make you realize just how fabulous life is..xx

  3. Amazing what their laughter can do to us. And a strategically timed glass of wine!!! Now if only that could sort out the bills….

  4. LOVE butter chicken ๐Ÿ™‚
There is something very liberating about jumping on a jumping castle ๐Ÿ™‚ Glad you beat the blues …

  5. Butter Chicken and Roti’s mmmmmh if thats what it takes to feel better, I’m prepared to make the sacrifice! ๐Ÿ˜€ My absolute favorite food, very rarely eaten. xxxx

  6. I have a jumping castle in my backyard (OK, technically its Minki’s), but Mommy are allowed to jump from time to time.

  7. Did you make the butter chicken and rotis yourself or was it take-outs? If you made it yourself its not illegal, only when its from the store.

  8. Ahhh yummy food.
Glad the food and jumping castke worked(does friend rent out castle?Need one for Little Ones Birthday in April)

  9. If you figure out how to pay the bills – please let me know! I’ve been going over budget again lately, and they just won’t go away!

I also loved bouncing the cares away on the jumping castle – and it’s amazing how many muscles you use, so that butter chicken was just a bit of fuel for the jumping!

*Sigh* after all the cake I ate last night, I’m also feeling fat, and having a seriou case of mommy guilt after leaving my kids at school / daycare yesterday while I indulged in a “me” day. Also wishing for a 6 month break from the drudgery of work. Where’s that Powerball ticket….?
    *hugs*
