Tonight

Watched the Graham Norton show this evening and he is HYSTERICAL!  I might have to dash off to buy the re-released Sinead O’Connor.    Despite the fact that she looks terrible.  Hubby used the words “fat old Lesbian”.  Don’t shoot me, we have lovely lesbian friends.

Which brings me to:  What memory (if any) do you associate with “nothing compares to you”?

Mine was my Matric year when I broke up with same guy for the 12th time and I actually counted the hours once.  (in order to understand why I say this you need to know the words!)  I was in a bus at a camp.  I am, almost 20 years (my GOD, I’m old!) later, now very good friends with the guy in question and very happy I didn’t marry him.

Anyhoo.  I was going tell you about all the poo we wiped off the kitchen floor this evening during supper, but I won’t gross you out.  We really should stop the girls from drinking the swimming pool water…

  1. Funny, my memory also involves a break up or rather break down of a relationship. I guess it’s that kind of song!

  2. I remember the song! I was 21, and my boyfriend and I was on the Oceanos when it sank. Our family taped all the footage while waiting for news of us and only knew we were ok when they saw us on TV – a Titanic type shot of me standing on land, wrapped in a blanket and wind whipping my hair and him coming up behind me to hold me. He made a collage of all the footage with this song as background music.

  3. OMG!!! I was in Std 7 and had the hugest crush on my Afrikaans teacher! LOL. I thought the sun shone out his arse and whenever I heard the song I would think of him. He of course was totally oblivious to it (thank goodness)and in hindsight… EEEUUUWWW! What was I thinking?

  4. Oh and Graham Norton is hilarious! Reminds me of my best friend who’s now living in London with his boyf.

  5. I was in st 6, worked shifts at a small sweet shop after school with this guy I had a huge crush on. We could bring our own CD’s to play whilst working and he brought Sinead O’Connor – which convinced me he liked me too, but actually he just liked her music! 🙂

Is she really a lesbian? I saw her a while back on Oprah and she had like 4 children ( I know lebians can have children too) – but I sort of remember the last one being from a fling she had – but I can be mistaken. Anyways, it doesn’t really matter now does it.
I do remember she had it rough growing up though!

  6. It’s been 7 hours and 15 days? I was in my teens – quite a ‘dark’ period for me! (Hmm, I see not much has changed)! I was at Natal Technikon – quite a memorable year – first year of freedom from the house. Too many things to remember from that year.

Aw, you cancelled a poo story for Sinead O’Connor?
