Weekend

Man, it’s hot in Cape Town. 38 degrees today and still extremely hot tonight.

You know when you hear hubby scream exclaim say “Oh NO!” that you are going to be cleaning up / paying to repair / replacing something.  Today’s case was the bottle of (childproof) Dischem kiddy vites.  The 3 of them opened and ate most of a bottle.

We were on the way to the beach, so I called Dischem on the way to find out how concerned I should be. The chemist had a look at one of their bottles and suggested that we give them lots of water to try and flush it out, and that their nappies might be yellow and that they might have runny tummies.  Oh, and they “might be a little energetic”.  I almost missed the last sentence as we had a rather loud and manic version of Old McDonald resounding from the backseat.  In triplicate.

So, several nappies and bottles of water and much time spent in the pool later they are all quiet.  For now.  Phew.

Some pics:

The girls and their Dad on the beach.  Check M on her tummy, loving the sun and I is more her Mother’s child, all covered up.  (and in Daddy’s arms)

The 3 of them watching TV yesterday morning.  I don’t know why we even bother with furniture.  Check, D’s had a hair cut!

M thinking she can lie in a play camp-cot my Mom picked up somewhere.  We had to intervene as her sister wanted to climb in with her..

Party plans are coming along nicely, but I’m going to keep Mum for now πŸ™‚

Hope everyone has a lovely week, mine is certainly going to be busy!

  1. Love the pics! I suppose the multi-vite bottle is child proof but not children proof. Your 3 prove that 3 heads/hands are better than one. At least it was something pretty harmless.

  2. Lovely pics as usual, love D’s haircut.
The heat is so draining, Della is right it was 42 yesterday at around 1pm.
    Have a great week. xxxx

  3. My Little Sis once got hold of some “reactivans” (energy pills for my mother)when she was 18 months old. Long story short, after a stomach pump and some nervous hours in hospital, she was released, and spend the next 72 hours awake, running around like a lunatic! The pills looked like smarties – and at 18 months she was able to pull a chair to my mother’s cupboard, stand on it and get the pills!!!

    Cute photo’s as usual!

  4. Oh shit! I would’ve run away if my two got hold of the vitamins! What I can’t understand is why they make kids medicine “childproof” but my BP meds and Yasmin, you can just pop right out the packaging? Ok, I obviously keep them out of reach – even if there’s steps involved, they can’t get to them, but it still worries me!

Absolutely love the pics! Kids don’t seem to understand the concept of furniture, well, not seats and couches, they much rather sit down on the glass coffee table in our house! Drives me insane!

Love D’s haircut πŸ™‚ Looking cute – as is the tanning diva on the beach πŸ™‚ I’m with I on beach attire!

  5. Oh dear, can imagine the energy. The beach, sun and fresh air was probably a good as any place to help expel it. Cute pics! love the new hairdo

  6. Love M’s cheeky pose on the beach! So cute and uninhibited. D’s haircut is very cute.
