What a weekend!

I am sometimes my own worst enemy.  We ended up having such a hectic weekend that we are completely finished and ratty tonight.  But well worth it!

Friday night we had friends over for supper that are visiting from Ireland, Saturday morning swimming lessons for the kids at 8h30, 20 minutes’ drive each way.  Then off to Joostenberg (another 20 minutes’ drive each way) for lunch and friends over for supper.  If you are in the Cape Town area and am looking for a reasonably priced lunch and a huge space for the kids to run amok, you can’t go wrong with Joostenberg!

This morning we dashed to the shops (we managed to get there by 09h10, everyone fed, dressed and showered), a pregnant twin-mom-to-be popped over for tea and my parents came over for lunch.

This avie hubby and I took turns to each have a power nap whilst the other one entertained Daniel and I literally put my head down and passed out for 45 minutes.  It was wonderful.

In my turn I dragged him off to a book shop where I know he knows the books and we spent quite a while there and he was as good as gold.

Mignon’s lip is healing nicely, but we seem to have 3 little runny noses on our hands, but fingers crossed it will get sorted before we leave!

When we were at Tygervalley today I decided that it was time for Daniel to have a way overdue haircut and decided to give Kid Station a bash. Well, what a good choice.  I was sooo impressed and Daniel got a lovely haircut for only R65.00.  Each chair has its own little dvd player and the kids get to choose their own movie when they arrive.  They have loads of yummy products and the staff were really friendly.  Well worth a visit!

Here is a pic, Daniel is on the left of the pic having his hair cut:

I should be wrapping Christmas gifts instead of hanging around here, as I realised with shock and horror this evening that all hubby’s family gifts need to be done by Tuesday night and all my family gifts by Friday night before we leave on Saturday morning.  And I’m still missing some gifts.  And work is going to be back-to-back this week.  Faaaak.

  1. Wow a DVD while you get your hair done. Think they should do this for the girls – get your highlights done while watching a chick flick!

  2. In our case they can just have the interwebs available so we can fb and twitter and blog 🙂

  3. When I think of the gorillas with combs and scissors lurking in places with stripey poles outside, that I had to contend with as a child, I can only marvel!

  4. Wow, this place looks great, wish I had thought of it they must be making great money.
You did have a full weekend, hope your holiday time is not going to be all go too! xx

  5. HECTIC!!
We have one of these kids hairdressers in a mall close to us, although it’s not quite as fancy as DVD players! It has little stations for the kids to sit on – with a car, motorbike, fire engine, duck etc. Tristan had his first haircut there, and they give you the hair in a little envelope that says “My first haircut”. Connor will be going there when the time comes!

I reckon these places are little goldmines! But much less traumatic than a trip to the barber 🙂

Good luck for work this week!!
