I had a funny (weird, not haha) day.
First off, I had to say goodbye to our Nanny of more than 3 years. Cried like a baby, both of us did. I am having serious separation anxiety. As much as I know she’ll always be part of the children’s lives to some extent, she has been my rock in many ways. The house was terribly quiet without her and the girls this afternoon. Gulp.
Then, a friend called this morning to say she is pregnant and we are all over the moon. She has Polycystic ovaries (sp??) and has had one child (ICSI), and a couple of failed IVF’s and a miscarriage since then. This pregnancy is completely unexpected (happened naturally) and very much wanted, I am so very happy for them!
Lastly, I take the kids for swimming lessons to a work friend that was retrenched just over a year ago. She was pregnant at the time and despite having had a baby and numerous personal challenges, she has managed to start up her passion, this swimming school. She managed to get Daniel to swim all by himself for the first time today and the pure joy on her face was something to behold. She is amazing! Sjoe, I can’t imagine the day when I have to bid farewell to SuperNanny. Must have been so hard for you both. How are the children handling it? How wonderful that your PCOS friend is PG – the same thing happened to my youngest sister and the result is now 9 months old. Yay for Daniel swimming on his own. And how fabulous that your colleague followed her passion despite the odds – that’s a real success story.
