Danielism etc

This weekend Daniel has decided it is time for US to listen to HIM.  He doesn’t whine at the moment, he just says:  “Ek praat met jou”.  Yes, he gets it a lot from us.

Mignon is taking her pants off.  All the time.  And shuffling around with them around her knees.  I think she gets this from Daniel as he does this and shuffles down the passage shouting :  “Wag tottie, WAG!”

We went to a party on Saturday morning where he got a “Sukerman” face painting.  I went off to the shops with the girls in the avie and apparently he asked hubby every few minutes to pick him up so he could look at his face painting.  And then he would kiss himself in the mirror.  🙂

I had coffee with a friend and we put the girls each in a chair at Woollies in Willowbridge.  The waiter kindly brought them their own “cappuccino’s”, which is foam in a espresso cup and saucer.  They loved it!  They looked like real little girly girls.

Isabel has also spent every single meal we eat on my lap for the last few months and I am done eating with one hand, so this evening I left a plate of snacks in front of the telly and made a beeline for the dinner table.  To no avail.  She eventually gave up after much expression of her disgust in me and went off to search and destroy.  She is by far the most stubborn of the 3 so far.

Each of the girls now have an eye tooth out, both the left-hand bottom tooth.  2 down, 6 to go.  Eye teeth suck.

We are moving them into beds soon, so that’s going to be fun.  With Daniel we put him in his bed only for afternoon naps for about a month before doing the actual move and he adjusted very well.  I’m dreading the sleep training, it was tough keeping him in his bed initially.  Ok, who am I kidding, we have to lie with him until he sleeps these days, we are just so DONE fighting with him.  I’m really worried about how to read to 2 kids at night.  Hubby and I will alternate nightly between getting the girls and Daniel to bed and reading.

Hope everyone has a lovely week, if you have any tips to share or suggestions, please feel free!

  1. Aah, I love hearing about your kids and their cute personalities showing so strongly at such an early age.
Good luck with the bed thing, hope it’s easier with 2 at once!

  2. Oh those three keep you busy! No use asking me about the bed thing, Jess has only been sleeping on her own for the last month!!! LOL xx

  3. Wow that lot of yours have you on the run.
Love those babychinos they give the kids,so cute.
    Have a great week

  4. Oh my goodness, I almost peed myself “Wag tottie Wag”!! LOL 😀 That’s funny 🙂
Sounds like you guys had a fun weekend 🙂

I think Tristan was 3 before we moved him to his “big boy bed”. He still falls out of it (3 years later), so I’m afriad I have no words of wisdom for you! I have, however, found the secret to sleeping problems! Coming soon on my blog…. 🙂

  5. LOL at Wag tottie! That’s hilarious. Please don’t say Mignon also says that with her pants around her knees. Sorry, absolutely no advice from me about getting children to sleep in their own beds – at 5 D is still on a mattress in our room!

  6. I see Minki also tries to take off her clothes, not really a problem, except she tried this in PnP.
