Last little winter

How lovely is this rain in Cape Town just before summer begins?  I can almost feel the soil suck all the rain in!

We have a space under the jungle gym and trees in our garden where the grass doesn’t grow, so we decided to plant some penny royal there.  I then went off to Stodels and was offered 6 plants for R20 or 200 plants for R129.  No brainer!  Only thing is, we have been plating penny royal like lunatics the last week, we take turns to dig holes, stick little plants in and swing children.  We won’t be doing any of that today, but it’s fun nonetheless!

Here’s a piccie of the 3 kids in the swings:

I’m working from home today, couldn’t face the traffic, such a waste of time!

Hope everyone has a great day!

  1. Lovely pic. I think this type of rain is wonderful and the smells that come out of the ground are something else! Of course with the air purifier around, I no longer have to worry about how Jess will react to the smells, half an hour at home and all is well in our world. xx

  2. Sounds like happy family time. I would go into my garden but I’m scared the overgrown plants will eat me.

  3. Great pic, weather is bit chilly for me,I’m a summer chick…but I can hear my new garden at the back growing and settling in nicely before the heat hits

  4. Hmmm, I’m not a fan of this chilliness, and the forecast is getting worse!

Well done for getting all 3 kids on the swings!! Lovely 🙂

  5. What a gorgeous pic? and yes, how do you push three at the same time? 😀
I think I saw a few dinosaurs in the garden over the weekend… have to call for backup before I go in there!
