Assisted suicide

Whilst hubby was watching Sky, waiting for to me get done blogging, this story was on about an old couple that went to Switzerland to end their lives as they were both terminally ill.

They were 85 years old and were apparently inseparable.

We agreed that this was actually not a bad idea under the above circumstances.  Scary thought, but I would rather die knowing what I was doing than not being able to recognise my family and be a burden to them.

Thoughts?

  1. It’s a difficult one.
I am a pro-life kind of person – the kind that believe if you are still alive, you still have a purpose on earth and it’s God who should decide to give and to take.

  2. But what if it is your child that wants to kill herself? Will I be able to “assist” in that? I don’t know….

  3. I do agree with you, but wonder about the choice I would make when faced with the actual situation.

  4. Very good point. Reminds me of that Jodi Picoult book, My sister’s keeper. Hopefully not something any of us ever have to deal with!

  5. Just read about it this morning. Personally, I agree with EEVD, God decides. This would go against all my morals and teachings.
