Groundhog day..

I’m not going to whine about sick children anymore.  Or about my mother that arrived with her OWN thermometer today and took temp every time the nanny did.  Just to be sure you know.  Or about the fact that Isabel and I almost spent the night in hospital.  Or about Mignon’s fever – might be a hat trick you know… Or about my repeat performance rushing home, tears in the car and all.

Instead I’ll share with you that I’m clearly not meant to be a hairdresser.  Not that I don’t know this already, but once again I decided to “trim” fringes.  Because they are starting school in 2 weeks and I don’t want to cut their hair this week, otherwise it would have grown again by then.  Which meant plonking the girls in the bath, wetting the fringes in question, plonking down the child in question, combing the fringe forward, plonking down said child again and taking aim.  And start from scratch with second child.

And then see the next morning how badly I screwed up.  And repeat performance the next night in the bath.  At least the girls think it is hysterical and we have a good laugh.  And splash.  Here is my (shameful) photographic evidence.  Bit blurry, sorry, but the only pic that has all the “bits” undercover.

I also almost managed to get Daniel to grace me with a smile on demand tonight:

Isn’t he a looker?  His hairstyle is the bedhead mohawk 🙂

  1. Good job with the fringes! (and that’s from an ex hairdresser) No really they don’t look bad at all, I would have left them a tad longer but considering their ages and mobility you did really well.
Hansome young man is your Daniel, you will be beating the young ladies off him soon! 😀 xxxx

  2. On the contrary, I was at the hairdresser yesterday afternoon (getting rid of all those Macy Grays)and the woman next to me must have spent about R700 getting the same effect as you created for your girls! Good for you! Hope the hat trick are well on the mend and that there are no trips home in tears today!

  3. I think the hair looks great! I’ve only cut hair once in my life (on myself at age 5), so I won’t be attempting any cutting on my two!
They look so cute in the bath 🙂
Hope they’re all feeling better today! (And you too).
