Phew

What a weekend.

Friends over for supper on Saturday night, Coq au Vin and too much wine (hiehiehie).  I also made this kickass dessert I was quite chuffed with as my culinary skills are average at best.  Hubby usually does all the cooking.  (applause please)

Sunday was lunch at my folks’ house and halfway through I started feeling terrible, couldn’t even finish my food.  I barely made it home and had some tummy bug that seems to have calmed down now.  There’s nothing worse than being ill and having to look after your children, I feel so sorry for them (and myself of course).  I ended up calling my Mom and she actually came to help, even though I did have to hear all about how sore her back is today.

We all only woke up at 7h45 this morning (YAY!!)  There was the usual running around last night, but an extra hour sleep always helps!

Today was a playdate in the morning and then this avie the in-laws over for tea.  The girls now also have runny tummies and were miserable, shame.  They were the lucky winners of an Empaped each at bedtime tonight.  Touch wood, no complaints so far.

Daniel has been, to say the least, a brat this weekend and is really enjoying the fact that he can say NO.  He is also very adept at whining and generally being in a foul mood. I love my child, but he drove me farking insane.  He is acting out about something, because he seems very frustrated.  We try to stay calm and give him the time to express himself verbally, but the messages are very mixed sometimes.

Anyway, I’m trying to spend more 1-on-1 time with him, but it’s really hard when there are 2 other little ones that also need me.

  1. Sorry that you have all got a “bug” and on a busy weekend too! Applause for your culinary efforts!!!!!!!!!

  2. How you feeling today?

Not easy trying to split your time amongst them all – and we so often expect the bigger ones to understand

  3. Some days are better than others as my friend Bono would say, all we can do is our best, I’m sure they’ll forgive us eventually.
