I have now arrived at the Zen stage of fury. You know, that purple patch when you just resign yourself to whatever must happen will happen.
Nanny is still not back, and it doesn’t look like we’ll see her before Monday. She is basically saying she cannot get transport before Sunday.
Hubby is off to Pretoria tomorrow on a business trip and I am fully mentally prepared. Nanny’s absence has meant that I have to pay a babysitter to look after the girls tomorrow and Thursday and fork out a lot of money, but at least I know they are well taken care of. I have the menu sorted out for tomorrow night and everyone’s food is ready and packed for the day.
The holiday saga continues, but I don’t have the energy to carry on about it now, hopefully we’ll sort it out soon.
I took the girls to ToysRUs this morning in a bid to get them out the house and maybe do some Christmas shopping.
I managed to get them in the car and out and into the shop in one piece. They have been trained to hold hands when they walk, so at least I have a free hand to carry shopping. And that’s where the chaos began. I remember at one stage looking back down the isle and there was literally a path of destruction behind me. They each had a little trolley and they went mad packing things in and out in various places in the store. Those people are going to be finding toys in very funny places for the next while..
When I finally had enough I had to try and talk them both off quad bikes. Which clearly didn’t work so I ended up stalking to the till kicking the trolley in front of me with a girl under each arm. And bribing them with juice and chips. Which they promptly messed on the floor. At which stage I made my exit. But only after one of the assistants had to help me herd children and carry bags…
Here is a pic of them on the quad bikes:

You paint quite a pic, can just see a little one under each arm with legs and arms sticking out.
My DF only misses a day and I feel it. Sterkte
It really sucks when childcare arrangements unravel. LOL at your Toys-R-Us experience. You’re a very brave woman to take two small children to a toy shop. That is not an undertaking for the faint-hearted! Hope your week improves and your purple anger can dissolve into a soothing pink haze.
Couple of wild days ahead! The girls look so cute with those quad bikes. xx
Well they look very happy, anyway! I think this is one of those vasbyt situations that is going to be a bit of a hassle no matter what.
Good luck for the next few days. Told my hubby about you nanny’s story last night, he was so shocked, we both then thought it might be a good idea to contact the DA and bring this kind of thing under their atention, as the ruling party in the West Cape, surely they should do something about this! (and you will propably have better luck with them than the department of education)
LOL! You go Twinnies!
Saw a mom in PnP on Sunday, she had twin girls with her, one draped around her neck clinging to her ponytail and another one attached to her leg. Mom wasn’t fazed at all, calmly doing her shopping and even whistling a cheery tune. Must’ve been on drugs or something….
We are paying the cleaning lady to come extra days as well…
Thanks LL, I’m now in a pink haze, thanks to some good red wine 🙂
Thanks Shazzie, they have their moments 🙂
Thanks Adele, just a pain in the backside!
Good idea, I am rather fond of the DA 🙂
LOTS of drugs. I’m the screaming banshee mom. Clearly not enough drugs..
