Food for thought

I am amazed.  I have just peeked through a lot of people’s posts today and they echo some of the things that have been going through my mind.

There are things going on around me that I don’t think would be fair to blog about in detail, because it concerns people that are close to me and things that people do to each other on their way out of a marriage that shock me beyond belief.  Adults that have children that behave like spiteful teenagers.  If you are reading this, you know who you are.  Grow up.

On a funnier note, the nanny called this morning to say we have no water.  I duly called the Water Department and was told that they would dispatch someone.  I called every hour after that, about 5 phone calls, but no news.  At 16h00 I call again, only to be told that our account is in arrears and the water has been cut.  So my first question is, why didn’t you tell me this at 11h00 this morning when I called the first time?  It’s not her job, she did me a favour.  WTF???  Turns out, hubby thought I was paying the account and I vaguely recall having the discussion, but just clean forgot about it.  Oops.  I had visions of having to cart children around to my out-laws to bath..  Thank goodness he managed to sort it out.

The wonderful thing is that I expected him to explode and be really pissed off with me and I was a bit nervous to go home, I felt really, really bad, but he was really good about it and even gave me a smile when I got home.  I keep forgetting that this man I married is one of a kind.  He doesn’t fly off the handle, he doesn’t harbour grudges.  He deals with stuff in a soft way and lunatic me wishes I can learn that from him.

Love you, love you my wonderful man.  More than ever I realise how lucky we are!

  1. its because you are so special, being a wonderful husband is because you are such a stunning chicka xxx

  2. I love your little comment on the getting divorced’s! I have an immense amount of respect for my parents, for the way in which they parted. They were ADULTS and knew it was important for us that they parted on good foot. A divorce is enough to deal with on it’s own, being childish is helping no one!

LOL on the water – I find it funny that not even the water being turned of, reminded you that you still had to pay it! πŸ™‚

There are a few very good men out there – glad you and me both have the fortune to have them on our sides!

  3. I am in complete agreement with you on the divorce front. I must admit it is particularly difficult to be the only adult in the process but I have learned to be two-faced, (smile while you curse under your breath), just to keep the peace for Jess. Worth every heartache in the end.
You and hubbie are indeed very lucky in each other and your lovely family. xx

  4. So glad your Hubbie is like mine and handles situations like this, mine is very rustig with hassels….drives me nuts…I’m a bit manic with crazy situations
