First off, some marvellous news! My dear friend Tray has joined our community, please head on over and say hello. She has been reading and loving our blogs for ages and has finally taken the plunge!
I chatted to the homeopath this morning and she said that one of the Moms in Mignon and Isabel’s class called and said that her little one had the same symptoms. She then suggested that it might be German Measles. OMG, I almost freaked out as there are some pregnant Moms and Teachers in the school.
I then pulled myself toward myself and called the paed to check the symptoms and he suggested Roseola virus. Which I of course had eliminated because they didn’t have really hectic fevers which are commonly associated with Roseola. I then checked back with the homeopath that agreed with this diagnosis.
So, then I called the school and explained and sent a long email. The only redeeming factor is that the incubation period is apparently 10 days, so I suspect they were all exposed at the same time.
God. I hope they don’t hate me forever. I have visions of being shunned by the school community.
Here is a link just for information:
Son2 had german measles last year and he had a terrible fever for nearly a week. Hope the girls are better soon π
Oh you’re THAT mother who sent the roseola to school! π
Oy oy, what a worry. Hope the girls are doing better soon.
Eeek. Thanks!
Shame man!
Yes, yes, I’m THAT mother π
Thanks LL!
They got it from somewhere – probably school – so you can just blame school! Shame, hope they get beter soon. Have a good weekend!!
oh shame! hope the girls are all better soon! good thing you put this link in for the info as i was going to ask what it was … being a first-timer that hasn’t encountered this before!
AND hope that you don’t get a public flogging from the other parents π
EIsh – hope da gals r well soon
Don’t you get so annoyed when mothers send their kids to school with contagious diseases so that everyone else can get sick? It is so inconsiderate. Especially when the mom has absolutely NO friggin idea what their child has, and must first eliminate 20 diseases before finding out what, exactly, it is. 4 days later.
This is why I don’t get upset! It happens to all of us!
Hope the girls are feeling better soon π HUGS
So the outbreak of Roseola is YOUR fault…..half the schools closed in the area….lynch mob on their way……LOL
Hope the girls are 100% soon and don’t worry there is always someone else hiding in the shadows to blame
Hope all goes well!
Thanks!
Thanks Deblet π
