Beginning, middle and end

Every morning I drive past this pond and the light reflects off the water and every day I want to stop and take a photo. This morning I did.  Isn’t it beautiful?

The middle bit is Isabel unpacking the Tupperware cupboard for the 15th time today.  Check the naughty little face!

The end was sunset and this picture was literally taken out my back door.  We are so lucky to have this view!

Doc visit

So, I’m the lucky winner of hernia surgery and a colonoscopy next week Friday.  Yay.  I am booked off work for 2 weeks and won’t be able to pick up any 17kg boys or 12 kg girls for 6 weeks.

What was quite scary was when I was asked to list all the operations I have ever had.  I don’t consider myself as sickly, but looking back I have had A LOT of surgery, amongst which there was
removal of polyps, (don’t even ask)
removal of birthmark on my face (courtesy of my Mother when I was 5, was a biggie on my cheeck and she was cared the kids would tease me),
removal of wisdom teeth,
putting of screws in broken ankle (both tibula and fibula, remind me to do post on how this happened),
removal of said screws (yes, yes, I had a screw loose),
2 laparoscopies,
2 c-sections and
a previous colonoscopy because of pesky polyps

How many times have you been under the knife?

Run run run

Just a quick drop-in to say I just had the BEST sushi for lunch and am running off to the doctor now to hav that little hernia thingy looked at.  Am thinking of asking him to suck out some fat while he is down there…

(Deblet is probably going to platz when she sees this…)

Daily Danielism

Everything is “so mooi” at the moment.

“so mooi” puzzle gebou (and he does nogals, 35 pieces, on his own, at 3, I think that rocks!)
“so mooi” tande geborsel (sucks the bloody toothpaste off the toothbrush and swallowed it)
“so mooi” geëet (actually did this one quite well, we just got the fat labby in to hoover up all the rice on the floor afterwards)

My local municipality hard at work for me

On my to-do-list was all the trees on the outside of our (very busy) corner plot wall that I have been waiting for the Municipality to come and trim for months now.

I eventually lost my temper and called a supervisor on Friday, the guy came out to look yesterday and promised they would be there today.

Apparently they followed my instructions to the T and you can now actually see around the corner and no-one can hide under the bushes as there is nowhere to hide now.

Yesterday was action day as I had
1.  plumber
2.  tree guy
3.  DIY guy
4.  builder at our house.

Then a friend came around for tea and another friend and her little boy also arrived.  It was chaos, but fun chaos!

I am determined to get through the list, will keep everyone updated!

Twins and triplets get together

The twins and triplets society is having a get together at Kids Playzone in Durbanville on Sunday, 7 June from 10h00 – 12h00.

If anyone is interested, please contact me on Spaces so I can send you the invite with the discounted play rates for twins!

Weekend

I had the pleasure of a visit to the Pead on Saturday morning as Mignon was coughing the whole of Friday night and didn’t want to eat or drink on Saturday morning – you know when they just “hang” on you without any energy?

By 08h30 on Sat morning I was in the car on the way to the doctor after
1.  having spoken to the doctor twice
2.  had a shower
3.  fed the girls breakfast
4.  cleaned up the vomit
5.  changed my clothes
6.  sorted out Isabel’s bloodied lip when she fell flat on her face when her brother yanked her clothes as she had her arms stuck in the sleeves of her dressing gown
7.  arranged for a friend to take Daniel to his party

Phew.  It is the dreaded RS Virus.

Girls better now, managed to talk doctor out of having Mignon admitted, I prefer dealing with it at home as they pick up all kinds of other bugs in hospital!

Have a great week!

The farmyard truck cake

The only reason I am posting this is because I had LOADS of fun doing it and it ended up being the best de-stress exercise, coupled with good conversation and some bubbly of course.

Went to my friend Sam’s house as it is for her little boy’s first birthday party tomorrow.  Took Daniel and left hubby home with the girls and he was an angel.

Ups and downs

Downs:
1.  Had to fork out a lot of money on our car yesterday, but it is going like a boeing now.
2.  Daniel has decided he no longer wants to sleep in the afternoons, this is only a down as it means no more weekend naps for me!  It does give us flexibility with other stuff though.

Ups:
1.  Will hopefully be able to make announcement re work in the next few days
2.  Hubby got a major increase this week, out of the blue!

Looking forward to a wonderful weekend with hubby and the kids.  Going to a 1st birthday party tomorrow and helping my friend with the cake (farm-truck cake, will post pics, promise!)  Tomorrow avie a pregnant friend is coming around for tea and Sunday I think will be family day.  I have visions of a pork belly roast.  (apologies to all Muslim and Jewish readers)

I did up a looong to-do list yesterday and emailed it to hubby saying he can pick which of the things he commits to doing and he can let me know which things he would like me to outsource 🙂  That way he is under no pressure and I can hopefully get the things done I would like to get done!
