Crappy day

It started with a friend telling me about his marriage that is in a lot of trouble.  I will do a post about this soon as it is quite a long and sad story. 

Fast forward to this avie when I rushed out of the office, only to be greeted by my piece of shite Renault that didn’t want to start.  It’s not that old a car, I’ve just never “bonded” with it, but have to drive it so I can cart the kids around.  This meant that I had to wait around to be towed from Cape Town city centre to Brackenfell (about 40 kms) in peak hour traffic.  I finally got home at almost 7 pm tonight.  But, I thought I handled it quite well, considering I had to deal with it all by myself.  Hubby also managed to take care of the kids AND cook supper.  I was very impressed.

We rushed through the whole eat/bath/bed routine and put the girls down.  And then Mignon hurled up supper and her bottle whilst hubby was reading to Daniel, which of course is of great entertainment to Daniel.  He came screaming into the room and said “kyk, sussie slaap”  followed by him leaning into her cot going “heelllloooo”.

We change clothes, bedding, make new bottle and settle Mignon. I start clearing the kitchen and I hear the all too familiar sound of vomiting again.  Rush back into the room, in time to catch before she decorates her clothes, so at least I only needed to change the bedding.  So, make another bottle, change bedding again and settle her down.

Hubby then finished up with Daniel and came to help me sort out the spare bedroom for the handy man tomorrow and she vomits AGAIN!!  Only thing is, by now I had run out of bedding for the cot so we improvised with receiving blankets etc.  She has hopefully now settled for the night, but we’ll keep an eye on her.  Unbelievable!
